Blowy springs readily to mind, when describing life In Byron Bay Today. The summer northerly showed scant respect as it whistled through town, swirling everything in its path. The swell swung around to the north along with it. Meaning to gain protection from the wind also meant being in the lee of the swell. Or to put it more simply the only waves today were lumpy and bumpy onshore peaks. Most people don’t bother to surf when it’s like that. Yoko and I excluded, we love onshore waves they are always uncrowded and keep you sharp for when it’s clean, but we can’t shoot ourselves. So instead we focused on the scene In Byron Bay Today even though Huey tried hard to blow it away.
